Welcome to the Home page of the Rochester Recreational Shotokan Karate Club. Located just 30 minutes north of the Seacoast in New Hampshire, the goal of RRSKC is to teach the techniques and philosophies of traditional Shotokan Karate and to provide its members a means to strengthen themselves both physically as well as mentally through training. The RRSKC values strength of character and fosters, as well as promotes the values of Courtesy, Respect and Effort.
The club was founded in 1980 and is under the direction of Steven D. Warren. Shotokan Karate is taught at the main dojo in the Rochester Community Center on Community Way in Rochester New Hampshire, and on the campus of the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire.
In these pages you will find information on Shotokan Karate, the RRSKC teaching philosophies, membership in RRSKC and training in our dojo.
Prospective members are free to visit the RRSKC dojo and observe classes before signing up. If you think you would like to join us then the only requirements prior to starting are to fill out the trial membership registration form and go through an orientation of club rules . You can then participate in classes for just the cost of the annual insurance (if you decide to become a member then your first year's annual insurance is already paid). Some suggestions for comfort are to wear sweats, or a gi if you already have one, and to bring a water bottle filled with water.
